This one-day joint conference with West Midlands Ambulance Service aims to provide an overview of the child’s journey into hospital, looking at the impact of decisions made, the principles of managing paediatric conditions prior to hospital admission and how we can work together to improve outcomes .

Topics include

Target Audience

All Healthcare professionals, Allied Health Professionals and Healthcare Students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding the child’s journey through care systems, and the impact of the decisions we make
  • Understand the principles of recognising the unwell child and how working together will improve outcomes
  • Understand the principles in managing common paediatric conditions prior to hospital admission
  • Understanding how illness and injury in children will place stress on the child, parents, families and healthcare staff
  • Understand balance between clinical activities and patient care responsibilities including safeguarding
