Partners in Paediatrics would like to share news of a newly formulated network for Paediatric Nurses and Allied health professionals (AHP’s) working with children and young people in liver and transplant care.
The network aims to provide peer support, learning opportunities, educational resources, and sharing of our expertise within the specialty.
We aim to provide advice and guidance for professionals nationally. In doing this we hope to support service development and standardise practice through collaborative working at national level.
The network is open to Nurses and AHP’s working with or those who have an interest in Paediatric Liver and Transplant Care.
The main responsibilities are to:
Jenny qualified as a Paediatric Nurse in 2005 following her Diploma in Children’s Nursing and started her career as a staff nurse on the Liver Unit at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The Liver unit supported Jenny in attending University courses to gain her top up Degree in 2010. These modules included Hepatology and Transplant care, Paediatric stoma care and High dependency nursing.
In 2020 Jenny obtained a secondment in education on the Liver Unit and later in 2021 became the permanent Clinical Educator for the Liver Unit. Jenny has since completed her PGCE and is passionate about the need for specialist education for nurses working within the paediatric liver speciality.
